چکیده
This work reports the possibility of using sustainable waste from watermelon rinds as a potential candidate for removal Methylene Blue (MB) aqueous solution in batch mode. The adsorbent was characterized by FTIR and SEM where analysis shows peaks at 3370 cm-1 that corresponds to –OH stretching vibration lignin, pectin cellulose, 1728 –C=O esters, carboxylic acids, well peak range 1350 – 1000 which indicates alcohols acids. availability hydroxyl carboxyl groups enhance high MB uptake lower pH. image raw no development pores, but after carbonization pores were developed due escape volatile during activation process. Adsorption studies mode performed varying adsorption parameters such dosage, contact time, pH initial dye concentration. maximum capacity found be 0.4g 4, 20mg/L concentration 60 minutes time removes 197.5 mg g-1. results indicated rind is successful agricultural could utilized cationic dyes solutions.
